about

In such delight I followed her nearly to my own ruin.

Thunder within, Lake without, in the I Ching Thunder signifies taking action and lake signifies an abundance. In following action is lead by abundance, the joy and abundance of lake driven by the action of thunder.

Understand that in Chinese theory yin and yang are neither inherently good nor inherently bad, so every hexagram can be good or bad depending on the circumstances. An abundance can be good or bad, taking action can be good or bad, it just depends. The hexagram is simply a dynamic. I chose to write this song about following someone into a negative circumstance. Understand in another circumstance it could be positive.

When I originally wrote this song, I wrote it for a girl who almost lead me to my death. When I recorded the final vocal track, I sang it for a different girl who had just sold me out. I hope they both hear it on the radio.

The album cover for The LP Ching pt 2 is based on my vision for the end of the music video for this song.

In the context of our story, the main character (Wudang Funk) had just met a woman in the previous song who brought him great delight, so much that his heart was invested and he was willing to follow her to the ends of the earth. And she lead him on, she lead him almost to his own destruction with her lies as she abused him.

lyrics

I would follow you to the ends of the earth
There's nothing that I wouldn't do so that we'd make it through

*Screaming in heartache*

I would have followed you to the ends of the earth
There was nothing that I wouldn't do so that we'd make it through
I could have followed you to the end of myself
You used your voodoo to keep me under your spell

You call your names
You play your games
With no regard to my health
I followed you so far that I forgot to save myself

*Screaming in heartache*

I almost followed you to the ends of the earth
There was nothing that I wouldn't do so that we'd make it through
I almost followed you to the end of myself
You used your voodoo to keep me under your spell

*Screaming in heartache*

I followed you so far cause I was lost under your spell
I followed you too far but now I've got so save myself
