We found ourselves surrounded. Our only chance was to retreat.
Mountain within, Heaven Without. Mountain is still and Heaven is directive. When one comes to a wall one must turn and go another way. Outside is overbearing and inside is keeping still.
The Art of War speaks of the importance of retreat as a strategy. In the I Ching retreat does not necessarily have to do with war, but it can be on a personal level. Remember the Hexagrams illustrate a dynamic. Retreat exists in the sense of war but it also exists in the sense of relationships.
In the story of The LP Ching, Wudang Funk and the Queen of Hearts have no choice but to retreat from Orwellian Nazi Police, that have been tailing them. They have been monitoring Wudang Funk's movements ever since he sang from his soapbox.
Chase scene music!
(I may well have written it as retreat in the sense of the Queen of Hearts pulling away, but I wanted the story to have some action to it and be somewhat fantastical, The songs are merely examples of the dynamic circumstances of the Hexagrams)
lyrics
They are far too powerful
We've got to make it through somehow
We've got to find a way
Retreat for now
So we can live
To fight another day

“Sauropoda” defies description; one minute it’s funneling the sound of Afrobeat through synths, the next it’s floating off into space. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 28, 2019
