This hexagram is called "Contention." It's pretty straight forward, It's about conflict. This could be a literal fight, or a verbal one, or even a conflict within oneself. Water within, Heaven without, here the current of water is guided by the yang force of heaven (which can be overbearing.)
The song is the first to make the statement that my music is for adults. A bar fight is a perfect example of contention. Really the lyrics are everything that leads up to the bar fight, with a character of belligerent nature. When I came to this song in my process of writing, one night, I was out at one of my favorite bars, Time and Space. There, a friend of mine was talking smack to his friend for shits and giggles. He said "Fuck you and your beard," but I misheard him and I thought he said "Beer." I laughed hysterically about it and it made for great lyrics.
lyrics
Some people just really wanna fight
My friend said he's out for blood tonight
He said come on now hey lets see a show of hands
He said come on now hey who really wants to dance
Then he knocked over a beer
He said let me make this clear
He said hey man I said fuck you and your beer
He said hey man I said fuck you and your beer
He said hey man I said fuck you and your beer
Let me make this very clear
Let me make this very clear
He said hey man I said fuck you and your beer
Then he said hey man I said fuck you and your pot
You really must not get out a lot
Then he said hey man I said fuck you and your spouse
I'll just have to fuck her at your house
Let me make this very clear
Let me make this very clear
He said hey man I said fuck you and your beer
So I said hey man I said fuck you and your face
You're an uncle fucker out of place
Does your mother know you're acting like a punk
You done fucking messed with Wudang Funk
Let me make this very clear
Let me make this very clear
I said hey man I said fuck you and your beer!
“Sauropoda” defies description; one minute it’s funneling the sound of Afrobeat through synths, the next it’s floating off into space. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 28, 2019
