I found myself wrapped in this sack of flesh. I have become this. I hunger, I thirst, I now have needs.
This hexagram, Heaven within, water without, represents a situation of need. We need food. We need water. This is a circumstance where a need has arisen. Here, the inner yang must follow the flow of the current leading it.
The song written for this one was loosely inspired by an alternate version of the story of Adam and Eve. In this version they were made of light until they ate the forbidden fruit, then they became flesh. Suddenly they had the need to eat, drink, and bathe. Suddenly they became fragile. It was interesting and the concept seemed to fit for this one.
lyrics
I am made of flesh
But I came from the light
Now I need to drink from the rivers
And breathe that I may be
I came from the light
But now I am of flesh
Now I need to feed from the land so
I can walk and talk and see
I am made of clay
And so are all of you
Now we need to drink from the waters
And feed upon the Earth
I came from the sky
Now I'm on the earth
Now I need to drink from the waters
And feed upon the Earth
“Sauropoda” defies description; one minute it’s funneling the sound of Afrobeat through synths, the next it’s floating off into space. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 28, 2019
