about

So after I left the dance floor I went into the woods to clear my head.

The second hexagram in the I Ching is called "Responding." There are some who call it "Open." This illustrates a situation where there are no obligations, where there is free time to enjoy the wonders of doing nothing. Earth within, Earth without, all of the lines are yin, this represents receptive, yielding feminine energy.

The song used to represent this is inspired by times I have spent in the woods in Cherokee park, open and free to relax, clear my head, practice and meditate. The tempo of the song takes a breath with each measure.

lyrics

Monk in the woods
How good it is to simply be
Silence in the woods
Emptiness is clarity
Monk in the woods
How good it is to simply breathe
Open your mind
You'll find you don't need anything

Listen to the trees
Listen to the birds that sing
Listen to the breeze
Listening to everything
Monk in the woods
How good it is to simply be
Silence in the woods
Emptiness is clarity
